Dersin Amacı

The purpose of this course is to introduce the polymers used in the biomedical field. In the course, information will first be provided on the synthesis and characterization of polymers, and the properties of polymers and the selection of suitable polymers for relevant biomedical applications will be discussed. Polymers used in medical and drug release will be introduced, and the future of biomedical polymers will be discussed.

Introduction to polymer science, properties of polymers, polymerization techniques, characterization of polymers, biomedical applications of polymers, processing of biopolymers, drug delivery systems, biodegradation and biodeterioration, chemically synthesized biopolymers, production and application areas of natural biopolymers, and the future of polymers in the biomedical field.
