The 3-week Bioinformatics Bootcamp, organized by our university's IEEE EMBS and CS student branches, has been successfully completed. Research Assistant Duygu Geçkin from our department provided participants with a comprehensive and instructive program, including an introductory Python course and insights into the field of bioinformatics. 

Red cabbage, which is frequently used in Turkish cuisine and a favorite ingredient in salads, will add ‘color’ to cosmetic products.

Biomedical engineering students visited THI medical company.

The project by our students, which enables early detection of melanoma (skin cancer), has been awarded a prize.

The signing process for the agreement with Universidad Jaume for Biomedical Engineering has been completed. Our students can add this university to their preferences in the next Erasmus Education mobility program.

Within the scope of BME 318 course, an Occupational Health and Safety Seminar was given to Biomedical Engineering students by our University's Occupational Health and Safety Specialist, Ms. Büşra BÖLCECİ YILMAZ.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Osman Doluca, Acting Head of Department of Biomedical Engineering, Izmir University of Economics (IUE), reported that they have developed a diagnostic kit that is sensitive to the English, South African and Brazilian variants of the new type of coronavirus (Covid-19) and has a low risk of false negative results.
